ATM, PDRM STAMP THEIR CLASS

Last year’s runner up, Armed Forces continued their relentless march in the Raja Noorashikin Cup by trashing Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan PJ 2 14-0 in a Group A match at the Seremban 2 Hockey Stadium.
This was their second win in as many days after they had defeated Sarawak 3-0 in the first match on Wednesday.
Goals for Armed Forces were scored by Suzana Mohamad Nasir (1st, 6th, 18th, 19th, 45th and 57th minutes), Elizawati Ismail (5th and 63rd minutes), Siti Rodiah Tumin (12th and 30th minute), Nadia Abdul Rahman (16th minute), Thalsiah Yaacop (27th minute), MA Jamaliah Moh Iris (34th minute) and Izzuin Ismail (50th minute).
The first test for ATM will be against the youthful Malacca side that trashed SMK PJ 2, 9-0 in their opening tie. The Malacca v ATM match could well determine who will top the table at the end of the preliminary round.
Malacca is fielding players that helped them capture the inaugural Raja Ashman Indoor Trophy in Ipoh last week.

In another match, Singapore was held to a 1-1 draw by Perak. The silver state opened scoring in the 38th minute through Nur Baiduri Mohd Tajuddin.
Singapore were a pale shadow of the team that participated in last years tournament as they struggled to put up moves to trouble the Perak defence. However a goal in the 57th minute by Ivy Chan Ai Wei saved them the blushes.
PDRM showed their class by blanking hosts Negeri Sembilan 4-0 in a Group B match.

They opened scoring in the 18th minute through Norahimi Sebahi and doubled their advantage when Marlia Mohammad found the back of the net in the 20th minute.
Goals by Fara Izla Salman in the 24th minute and Norhafizah Razali in the 60th minute sealed the points for PDRM who had won their opening match 5-0 against SM Politeknik on Tuesday.
KL Sukma however went down 1-0 to Terengganu in a closely contested match with Nor Asikin Halim off a goalmouth melee in the 14th minute.
